Will the new text use the same font?

If the font embedded for that line contains every character you type, noll uses exactly that font. PDFs often embed only the letters that were used, so new letters may be missing; in that case noll uses the closest standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier) in the same size, weight and colour, and tells you before you save if a character cannot be shown at all.

Is the old text really removed?

Yes. The original words are removed from the page content before the new text is written, so they cannot be selected or found by search any more. Other lines, images and drawings on the page stay untouched.

Why can't I edit text in my scanned PDF?

A scanned page is a picture of text, so there are no words to change. You can cover parts with Whiteout PDF and type over them with Add Text to PDF instead.

Can I change a whole paragraph?

Each line is edited separately and keeps its position, so short changes such as names, numbers and dates work best. Text does not reflow to the next line.
